The State Health Plan’s top priority is to ensure that our members have access to care—which includes medical coverage and prescription medication.

The Plan implemented a new contract for eligibility and enrollment services beginning June 1, 2015. Unfortunately, since that time the Plan has experienced data transfer issues. This has resulted in some State Health Plan members being listed as “inactive” when they seek treatment.

Affected members include those members who have made a change to their coverage, newly hired and newly retired since June 1, 2015, and are enrolled in one of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NC plans.

Members who are experiencing enrollment issues or who have not received their insurance cards should call State Health Plan’s Customer Service at 855-859-0966, Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Customer Service will also be open August 15 from 8a.m.-5p.m. for anyone who may need assistance.

Representatives are ready to help members expedite any issues and ensure access to care.

Moving forward the Plan is working toward a permanent solution which we hope to have resolved by the end of September.  We apologize for any inconvenience.
