New Employee Resources
As a new employee, you will need to enroll within 30 days of your hire date. We’re here to help you navigate through your State Health Plan options. Click below for State Health Plan resources to assist you with your options:
An eligible dependent of a covered employee includes:
Children up to age 26, including natural,
legally adopted, foster children, children for which the employee has
legal guardianship and stepchildren of the employee;
Children who are physically or mentally
incapacitated, to the extent that they are incapable of earning a

Qualifying Life Events
Qualifying Life Events (QLEs) allow members to make certain changes, such as adding or dropping dependents. Qualifying life events include marriage, birth, spouse employment change, etc. Please note that changes to your health plan must be made within 30 days of the qualifying life event. A qualifying life event does not allow you to change the health plan in which you are enrolled.
Click here to learn more about the required documentation necessary for each qualifying life event.
During Open Enrollment, you can enroll in the State Health Plan, switch between plans and add or remove dependents without a qualifying event. Please remember that when adding dependents to a benefit plan, you will be asked to provide documentation of dependent eligibility under the State Health Plan.
