Step-by-Step Enrollment Instructions for a New Employee

eEnroll is the enrollment system in which you will enroll in your health benefits. Once your Health Benefits Representative has created a personal record for you in the eEnroll system and you are ready to enroll, this document will walk you through step-by-step on how to enroll​.

For Non-Permanent Employees

The North Carolina General Assembly approved legislation to create a new health benefit to comply with the federal Affordable Care Act (ACA). The High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) benefit option is available only to employees eligible for coverage under G.S. §135 48.40(e). 

Please check with your HR department to confirm your eligibility and then visit High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) Overview​ to learn more about the benefits and resources that are available to you. 

Notices for Employers

Generally, employers are required to provide these notices to their employees on an annual basis prior to the start of the plan year or within specified times after their initial hire date.  These notices may be sent to employees along with new hire health plan enrollment packets and/or along with annual Open Enrollment materials.  If you have questions about these notice requirements, please consult with your agency’s in-house legal counsel.
